Creighton Leaders for Life is an annual celebration of those who have helped shape Creighton women’s athletics while raising scholarship support for the next generation of Bluejay female student-athletes.
After celebrating the pioneers who paved the way in 2025, the challenge became: where does the story go next? They needed a theme that honored past progress while inspiring today’s athletes, alumni, donors and business leaders to continue pushing for what’s next.
We penned the line Let’s Ruffle Some Feathers. Yes, it’s a nod to their beloved Bluejay mascot and the prominent feather pattern on their home volleyball and basketball court, but it also acknowledges a truth female athletes and leaders know too well. Progress rarely comes from staying comfortable. Instead it comes from speaking up, challenging expectations and refusing to wait for permission.
The timing was perfect too. As Creighton unveiled its new baseball and softball complex as part of the Fly Together initiative, “Let’s Ruffle Some Feathers” reflected a program investing boldly in the future. New facilities, expanded opportunities and increased visibility for student-athletes reinforced the campaign’s message that meaningful progress requires bold action.

Compared to the previous year’s Leaders for Life campaign, 2026 saw more tables sold, more scholarship dollars raised, expanded campaign visibility across campus and creative out and about in the wild. “Let’s Ruffle Some Feathers” became a statement about the future of women’s athletics at Creighton: one built by leaders willing to challenge expectations, create opportunities and inspire the next generation.
